Energy Conservation and the Unruh Effect
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper it is explicitly demonstrated that the energy conservation law is kept when a detector uniformly accelerated in the Minkowski vacuum is excited and emits a particle. This fact had been hidden in conventional approaches in which detectors were considered to be forced on trajectories. To lift the veil we suggest the transition amplitude written in terms of the Minkowski coordinates. In this amplitude the Hamiltonian of the detector involves a classical potential term instead of the detector’s fixed trajectory. This amplitude agrees with the corresponding conventional one in the limit of an infinite mass detector though even then the recoil remains. PACS: 03.65.Bz, 04.20.Cv, 03.70.+k

On Hawking/Unruh Process: Where does the Radiation Come from?
The energy source of the radiation in Unruh/Hawking process is investigated with emphasis on the particle number definition based on conservation laws. It has been shown that the particle radiation is not the result of pair creation by the gravitational force, but the result of difference in the conservation laws to define the particle number. The origin of the radiated energy in the distant fu...
متن کاملA test of the circular Unruh effect using atomic electrons
We propose a test for the circular Unruh effect using certain atoms – fluorine and oxygen. For these atoms the centripetal acceleration of the outer shell electrons implies an effective Unruh temperature in the range 1000–2000 K. This range of Unruh temperatures is large enough to shift the expected occupancy of the lowest energy level and nearby energy levels. In effect the Unruh temperature c...

متن کاملThe effect of applying energy conservation techniques on the fatigue of chemical veterans with respiratory disorders
Background and Aim: Fatigue is one of the most common and debilitating symptoms of respiratory disorders in chemical veterans which affects many aspects of patient's life. This study was conducted to determine the effect of applying the energy conservation techniques on the fatigue of chemical veterans with respiratory disorders. Methods: This clinical trial study was conducted on 49 chemical v...
متن کاملDecoherence without dissipation.
That decoherence can take place in the presence of energy conservation seems to be a poorly known fact. That lack of knowledge has, for example, bedevilled the discussion of the 'black hole information' problem. I present a simple model that illustrates such energy-free decoherence.
